That's right I said, I didn't like it and I decommissioned it, but, I HAD to see my old house and beautiful views of Edinburgh. I also put some Tags on her photographs of a beautiful stone bridge. Now I'll have to get into Folksonomy. However, Facebook assures me that I can login again using the same login and password at a later date should I change my mind. Used their privacy setting, wrote some comments on a friend's wall, commented on some picture and used the 'share' facility. I investigated the Ning social network but couldn't find a group that was interested in the particular thing I collect. I saw some professional groups such as interior decorators and architects, that had a Ning group. I also noted that some of the groups were by invitation only. How do they know that a certain person is out there waiting to be invited?
Clifdenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09392566690346011397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075866530918260751.post-74698378686000484862009-05-11T22:30:00.001-07:002009-05-11T22:39:14.461-07:00Facing off with Face BookWanted to get into the buzz and try Facebook for Social networking. I was a bit confused to remember yet another password! I was also a little wary having read the overview as to how to maintain privacy. I had a good look at the profile I was setting up and also set the parameters so that I need not share every time I connected to a new (old) friend. etc. etc. With so many stoppers I wonder that I will ever be found by anybody!
I certainly think that this would be good for networking at a Library Conference especially as I found on a conference that at the end we were all madly exchanging phone numbers and email addresses. Nice to keep in touch until the next scheduled gathering.Clifdenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09392566690346011397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075866530918260751.post-60113929697217588442009-05-10T17:06:00.000-07:002009-05-17T23:46:24.859-07:00Becoming Queensland, State Library of Queensland virtual websiteHope you will be able to look at Becoming Queensland a new virtual exhibition put together by Anna Haebich, our Historian in Residence. Concept was good but at this point I can't think of an example of where I could use one in my job description. I see similarities with O common file where anyone can add or change information. Still thinking and have had a look at the University of Tasmania wiki.Clifdenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09392566690346011397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075866530918260751.post-33972398624704433862009-04-22T14:00:00.000-07:002009-04-22T14:09:40.124-07:00Informal networkingAttended a good session with my work unit and discussed this project. Saw a great demonstration from one of the bloggers and looked at various applications. The session was light, and gave everyone some great ideas. If we were feeling a bit jaded or tentative about going on with the project or even starting, we felt a bit more confident after that --well that was the aim of the session organised by our Manager. Shared some good pages and had a few light bulb moments, realised that I had been in the World of Wikis all along with our Heritage Wiki. Thank goodness for Ann's wonderful enthusiasm and thoroughness! My partner wonders how I can blog and do my work at the same time Ah!, but it is work!Clifdenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09392566690346011397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075866530918260751.post-12381690016302014832009-04-15T00:00:00.000-07:002009-04-25T15:47:05.701-07:00

I think that this may be my last post so I'm looking at the sun as it sinks slowly in the west.
Taps
Day is done, gone the sun, from the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
Clifdenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09392566690346011397noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075866530918260751.post-72172242186814253842009-04-06T18:16:00.000-07:002009-06-22T21:27:21.362-07:00Posted some photographs on Flickr.

Very wrapt to have joined Flickr and put up some more photograhs. http://www.flickr.com/photos/clifden06/Tried Smugmugs but it was much more difficult than Flickr. I had a chance to learn how to load images on Flickr Commons at work. Also it's free! Tried to join Smugmugs for the 14 day trial but it may have just been technical difficulties online. Anyhow the look and feel was different. I receive frequent updates from family members on Photo share websites.

Clifdenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09392566690346011397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6075866530918260751.post-29143042044385702152009-04-04T13:36:00.003-07:002009-04-04T14:02:03.969-07:00Boys on bikes at Barramornie Station, August 1924

Boys on bikes at Barramornie Station, August 1924
Originally uploaded by State Library of Queensland, Australia
I enjoyed looking at the Flickr Commons images especially recapping some of the bicycle pictures.
